A Consuming Experience

Blogging, internet, software, mobile, telecomms, gadgets, technology, media and digital rights from the perspective of a consumer / user, including reviews, rants and random thoughts. Aimed at intelligent non-geeks, who are all too often unnecessarily disenfranchised by excessive use of tech jargon, this blog aims to be informative and practical without being patronising. With guides, tutorials, tips - and the occasional ever so slightly naughty observation.

For anyone who's not yet spotted it in Blogger Buzz, good ol' Blogger have just launched a useful new blog called "Known Issues for Blogger in Beta" to cover "bugs and missing features in the new version of Blogger (currently in beta) that affect a significant number of users." Well worth keeping an eye on. There's 19 items listed so far, and they've been posting away there since yesterday.

All posts in that blog have been duly tagged with labels, and the blog even has a "search by label" tag cloud at the start. I wonder if that's automatically generated...

Well 'strictly' speaking Imp, I don't think their list of labels quite qualifies as a cloud. It's just a lists of labels displayed in-line. Kinda cloud-like, but not quite there as there is no font-size and or color difference given to 'weigh' the number of entries in each label. Looking at the generated code for it, they either just manually modified the label 'widget' to output everything in span tags rather than a ul list, OR they have some option that the rest of use don't yet to pick that setting. That is something they could easily allow users to change to if they wanted.

But if you wanna real label cloud right now... :-)

Yer right as always, Cap'n Kirk!

And no doubt you'll be producing that label cloud if you haven't already...
