For those not aware of it, ECCA (Enterprise Centre for the Creative Arts) have recently released some podcasts aimed at giving business advice or howtos on business basics to artists, designers, writers and others in the creative industries. The first podcasts (you can subscribe to their feed) are on:

- Applying for Funding and Sponsorship
- How to Set Up a Not-For-Profit Business
- How to Handle Clients and Commissions
- How to Find a Place to Work
- How to Find a Sponsor
- How to Cope with Tax and Self-Assessment
- How to Cook the Books
- How to Get New Clients
- How to Make a Name for Yourself
- How to Find and Reach Your Market
- How to Set Up a Business
They also offer free services and advice to creative businesses on raising finance/accounts, banking, starting up in business in the creative arts, etc, not only to those in fashion and art, photography etc but also e.g. web design. I certainly keep an eye on their site and events.
